[begin transmission in third-person mode]

Dana Seilhan was born in 1974 into a Navy family from south Louisiana. By the time she was eighteen she had lived in three nations and five states and had racked up a Presidential Academic Fitness Award, one of the top two scores in the Talent Identification Program in the state of Missouri for the '86-'87 school year, first place in a local 4-H Club poster competition for the '90-'91 school year, and a first-place art show ribbon at Munford Celebrate in Munford, Tennessee, also in 1991. She graduated high school with a C average and did not know what to do with her life, so joined the Army in a last-ditch effort to get college money. She didn't get the college money, but she did pick up a bad marriage. Eventually she got into college on a Pell Grant and a loan and made dean's list her first term. Three guesses as to what happened next, and the first two don't count.

What do you do with yourself when there's nothing particular about you that sets you apart from the nearly-eight-billion-strong crowd in a positive way? Dana isn't sure, and will probably never figure it out. But who knows. Life's funny.
